Leaking element housing.

Not all hot water cylinder leaks lead to replacing the cylinder.

This particular model of hot water cylinder has an additional element housing, near the top of the cylinder that is capped off. A further element can be added to provide a boost of hot water if required. The O ring that seals the housing had perished, I didn’t have to fully drain the hot water cylinder. Once the new o ring was installed. A quick top up of the cylinder all was well.
